Embassy of Viet Nam does not have authority to issue the Criminal Record Certificate (Police Check). Applicant must submit directly to the National Centre for Criminal Record (relevant to the Ministry of Justice of Viet Nam) by secured postage service and should contact them for information on how to apply and receive certificate by post as well as method of payment before submission.

Paperwork includes:

(1) Application for Criminal Record Certificate download form

(2) A certified copy of applicant’s current passport

(3) Registration for receiving certificate by post download form

(4) Power of Attorney (in case the applicant will authorise a third party to submit his application on his behalf) download form

Applicant must come in person to the Embassy to sign the application as well as registration for receiving the certificate by post or Power of Attorney before the consular staff and have his passport’s copy certified.

If the applicant is unable to come in person to the Embassy, he must sign the application as well as registration for receiving the certificate by post before the solicitor and have his passport’s copy certified. His paperwork will be sent to Legalisation Office – Foreign and Commonwealth Office for certification and then to the Embassy of Viet Nam for legalisation (see the instruction for legalisation here)
