Vietnam has decided to shorten quarantine time for fully vaccinated travellers with negative COVID-19 test results to 7 days of quarantine at an assigned facility followed by another seven days of medical surveillance at residence if they meet the following criteria:
- Vaccinated travellers must present a certificate of a negative RT-PCR/RT-LAMP COVID-19 test result issued within 72 hours before arriving in Vietnam.
- Travellers with certificates showing that they have received two doses of Covid-19 vaccine (the final dose at least 14 days and no more than 12 months before their arrival). Those who have previously contracted the coronavirus and have certificates to prove that they have recovered from the virus will also be able to make use of the shorter quarantine. These certificates were issued no more than 6 months before their arrival. Their certificates need legalising by Vietnam Embassies before their travel to Vietnam. Their certificates must be accepted by Vietnamese authorities.
- Travellers will still need to take SARS-CoV-2 tests on the first and the seventh day of their quarantine period. If the SARS-CoV-2 test on the seventh day is negative, they can leave the quarantine facilities for their residence.
- After 7 days of quarantine at their assigned facilities, travellers will have to move to their residence or accommodation for further medical observation for another 7 days. During this time, they must follow the 5K social distancing measures and use the Bluezone contact tracing app.
